Throwback Thursday is a weekly feature here on Random Thoughts Of A Twenty Something. It is said that a picture can paint a thousand words and I wanted a way of looking back and reflecting on my past whether it be recent or from years gone by. There’s something quite intimate and revealing about sharing photographs from our lives and I’m always intrigued about the story behind the lens.
Last week I had managed to miss posting my Throwback Thursday post so the last image I had shared was one of my little Elliot in his Pimp My Pram T shirt! I really loved that T Shirt and I wish I still had it for our little lady who is due later on this year.
With the summer holidays fast approaching and with it being the last summer as a blended family of 5 it has got me thinking about making memories with our children. This weeks image is from last summer when we were on a caravan holiday in Great Yarmouth. It was the first time the 5 of us had been to a sandy beach all together and got to paddle in the cool sea waves.
At the time it was really difficult to get everyone to stand in a row whilst I took the photograph and I remember feeling really frustrated that Nevaeh kept trying to lift up her legs as the small waves approached our toes. However today I can’t help but smile when I see this photograph – it shows how the best of intentions can be undone in a matter of hilarious moments as it resulted in a very soggy daughter as she fell over into the wet sand. This image helps to sum up what it is like trying to micromanage three children with three different personalities and it does make me wonder what it will be like when our youngest has finally arrives in the Autumn. We are hoping to make this summer one to remember I just hope that I have my camera near by.
What do you think of my photograph? Don’t forget to check back next Thursday to see what image I have chosen to share with you!
